Article 1 - Definition

Design and construct a cardboard box to keep the projects that the students be doing in the workshop should be simple and functional design, so they can open and close easily and also, once closed they are airtight, so it will prevent any parts may be lost ..
is important to make a cardboard box to save the project, since from the moment we begin to build the project, it is necessary to keep the parts to be manufactured and the materials needed to project development (batteries, motors, cables, screws, etc ...) and do not let them loose in bags.


When boxes are rectangular or square base very easy to store, helping the organization of the workshop.
is going to use recycled "cardboard" (empty boxes of cheats, we have collected from the cafeteria of the center).

We're going to try to design and build a similar project, this work is going to do with the courses of 2 and 3 Right.

General Theory

A pulley is a simple machine used to transmit a force. This is a wheel, usually solid ribbed edge, which, in the course of a rope or cable that passes through the channel ("throat"), is used as the transmission element to change the direction of motion in machines and mechanisms. In addition, joint-forming equipment or hoists, serves to reduce the magnitude the force required to move a weight. Equipment needed

  • Carton (which is compact).
  • brass bushings.
  • M4 Stud.
  • M4 nuts and washers.
  • White glue for wood.
  • Rubber Bands of different lengths (10, 12 and 14 cm).
  • round wooden rod (6mm).
  • Tablex 3mm (you can use any material, including cardboard). Tools

Construction operators

1 .- produce an eccentric and he put a crank near the outside edge.

2 .- manufacture two identical brackets cardboard

3 .- Once we have the two media, we make a hole using a 5mm drill, this hole is necessary to introduce cap brass and then paste the brackets as shown in the following image.


4 .- Cut a piece of rod threaded 10 cm.

The first part of the project is an eccentric with a handle, a shaft and a pulley, then we will mount the first transmission system of pulleys and belt. General Theory



A transmission system is a mechanism used to communicate motion from one shaft to another. This can be achieved in several ways:

.- By gears : These mechanisms are formed by wheels or bars that have teeth and are connected to each other, so that, when turning or moving one, the other rotates or moves in another direction.

There are four basic types of gears: straight wheel, bevel, rack and pinion and worm. Each is used to get a different effect.



.- By sprockets and chain: These mechanisms are composed of two gears that are connected by a chain that engages the teeth of the wheels.

Design and construct an object that can raise and lower loads. The object in question must incorporate a gearbox pulley.

design object as we have done using motion transmission system a pulley and belt system. We made a double pulley:

In this first image the two pulleys are of 10mm plywood and placed together.



other system in the pulleys are separated, we have built a plywood of 10mm and the other with two nuts, two washers and a brass cap.

This system is used to transform the fast motion and low force, the motor in moving slower but with greater force, pulley.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS

  1. You build a pulley. The size of this block depends on the load we want to raise: the higher the load, the greater will be the radius of the pulley.
  2. pulley is placed on supports that are capable of withstanding the load will increase.
